BUTCH TRIBUTE

Roses
The hard hitting punk statement in Roses, is inspired by making a butch version of the choreography Rosas danst Rosas (1983) by Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker, a piece that unites a feminine gender expression with the minimalistic dance tradition.

Roses premiered as a triple bill together with Flirt and Flannel Dream, at Teater Innlandet (Norway) as part of Move Dance Festival August 2021.

Roses can be programmed as an independent piece (8 mins), or together with Flirt and Flannel Dream as one longer performance (about 60 mins in total).
The performance can be adjusted to the conditions of the stage and arena, and is suitable for artistic, feminist and/or queer contexts.
